This department is responsible for all aspects of land use regulation contained in the City of Smithville`s codes. The Community Development Director,  Jack Hendrix is also the Planning Director.

All applications for rezoning, annexation, subdivision plats, special use permits, variances and site plan review applications should be submitted to that office at 113 W. Main, Smithville, MO 64089. Applications for these matters should be available online by July, 2009. Prior to filing any application, it is recommended that you meet with the Planning Director beforehand to determine which application(s) will be required.
