About the Parks
Smith`s Fork Park (1601 DD Highway)
Smith`s Fork Park is a 250 plus acre park that the city leases from the Unites States Army Corps of Engineers. Amenities include a lighted baseball field, two unlighted baseball fields, six soccer fields, a lighted football field, two shelters with electricity, two shelters without electricity, two restrooms, two concession stands, skateboard park, a self-supplied driving range, Smith’s Fork Park Campground, Lake Remote Park & Nature Area, A Boy Scout Special Use Area, and fishing from the Smithville Lake Dam Spillway.
Smith`s Fork Park Campground: Smith`s Fork Park Campground is a full service campground. Each site has electricity, water, and sewer connections. There is a restroom/shower house on site. The campground is open April 15 to October 15. Reservations may be made during the season by calling 816.532.1028. No reservations may be made before April 15.
Directions from 169 Highway: Take DD highway east through historic downtown Smithville approximately 1.25 miles to Litton Way (this road goes across Smithville Lake Dam) head north on Litton Way and take the first left, Smith`s Fork Dr. Follow to Campground on left. Camping Fees:

Full service 30-amp site. Twenty dollars ($20.00) per day.

Full service 50-amp site. Twenty Three dollars ($23.00) per day.

Primitive site. Twelve dollars ($12.00) per day.

Senior Discount. Campers at least 65 years old are entitled to a camping rate of eighteen dollars ($18.00) per day for a 30-amp site and twenty one dollars ($21.00) per day for a 50-amp site.

Charter and certified club members are entitled to a camping rate of eighteen ($18.00) per day for a 30-amp site and twenty one dollars ($21.00) per day for a 50-amp site.

Extended stay discount. For every six (6) days paid in advance, a camper is entitled to the seventh (7th) day free. $120.00 for a 30-amp site and $138.00 for a 50-amp site per week.

All campers are subject to a five dollar ($5.00) charge for vehicles in excess of the primary tow vehicle and towed vehicle. For purposes of this section, a vehicle shall include, but limit to, cars, trucks, vans, motor homes, boats, jet skis, go-carts, motorcycles, etc. For purposes of this section, a "primary tow vehicle" is defined as a motor home or vehicle towing a trailer.
Campground Rules

Parking allowed on gravel areas ONLY, no parking on the grass.

One camper and one tent per site OR two tents per site.

Tents must be placed within 25 feet of the camp pad.

Campfires allowed in the fire rings ONLY. No campfires after midnight.

The consumption of alcohol will be allowed in campsites only.

Alcohol consumption will be limited to individuals 21 yeas of age or older.

Obey campground traffic regulations and observe one-way traffic patterns.

Keep the campground clean by placing all refuse in the trash containers.

Do NOT put trash in campfires.

Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet.

No pets allowed in the park buildings. Clean up after your pet.

No fireworks, firearms or amplified sound.

Satellite dishes must be placed within 10` of the camping unit.

Maximum stay is 14 days in a 30 day period (per US Army Corps. of Engineers regulations)
Lake Remote Park & Nature Area
Lake Remote Park & Nature Area provides 3.95 miles of improved trails in a 40-acre setting. The Park & Nature Area is part of Smith`s Fork Park. Lake Remote Park & Nature Area includes a series of trails with three different surfaces; Ag-Lime, Maintained 10-Foot Cut and Single Track.
Within the 3.95 mile radius is a beautiful natural lake, which offers public fishing at no charge, with a Missouri Fishing License. The lake has been stocked with catfish, bass, crappie and blue gill.
- Heritage Park (327 East Main)
Located on Main Street (DD Highway), just east of Downtown, Smithville.
Amenities include two lighted baseball fields, one practice baseball field, four soccer fields, two shelters, playground, picnic tables, a half-mile paved walking trail and restrooms.
- Courtyard Park
Located in the center of Smithville’s Downtown Heritage District on Main Street (DD Highway). Amenities include the Ali Kemp Memorial Stage with electricity, perimeter electrical boxes, shade trees, picnic tables and park benches.
- Emerald Ridge Park (15108 Kelly Drive)
Amenities include a neighborhood playground and large green space.
- Helvey Park (1 Helvey Drive just west of Dam Road)
Helvey Park offers approximately 15 acres of parkland, including a 10-acre stocked lake, picnic tables and large shade trees. Fishing is available with the purchase of a City Fishing Permit ($5) which are sold at City Hall (107 West Main Street).
Parks Facilities Reservation Information
Facilities are available on a first-come/first-served basis. Shelters, the courtyard stage and baseball fields can also be reserved. You do not have to be a resident of Smithville, Missouri to reserve these facilities. The reservation rental fees are as follows:
