Smithville Streets Department
Goal – To efficiently and effectively maintain Smithville’s transportation network and infrastructure by optimizing all resources in a manner to meet the needs of our growing and thriving community.

Street Department personnel will return your call. You may also e-mail the Street Superintendent.
The Street Department maintains 42 miles of street in Smithville. Responsibilities include:
- Right-of-way maintenance
- Sweeping
- Storm sewer repair and installation
- Spot repairs
- Signs & signals
- Snow & ice removal
- Mowing city property
- Spring/Fall brush clean up – the City provides curb side pick up in the spring. Brush must be in bundles or in recyclable lawn and leaf bags. Limbs must be no larger than 6 inches in diameter. Fall clean up requires residents to haul brush to Helvey Park Drive.
- Monthly and yearly budgeting
Normal working hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
