Household Hazardous Waste Program

Household Hazardous Waste Program

Household Hazardous Waste includes products typically used in residences, such as paint, cleaners, lawn and garden products, automotive fluids, bug sprays, fluorescent lights, and other chemical products. Products labeled as flammable, toxic, corrosive, or reactive, are considered household hazardous waste. Labels such as, "DANGER", "CAUTION", or "WARNING" will appear on the product.

The City of Smithville will host a HHW Event on April 12, 2025 at the Smithville High School from 8 am to 12pm.

Mid-America Regional Council has mobile events scheduled throughout the metropolitan area. Smithville residents can dispose of their household hazardous waste at any of the drop-off locations. Please visit RecycleSpot for a list of the drop off locations.
