City Hall and Facility Updates
On May 3 at 11:59 p.m., the Governor’s Stay at Home order will expire. Clay County Public Health Center’s recommended recovery plan will go into effect for the County, recommending certain social distancing measures and phased openings. In compliance with that plan, beginning on May 4, Smithville City Hall will remain closed to the public. Staff will be available by phone or email from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. to address any issues. Online processes that have been developed during the Stay Home Order will remain in place, and this is still the preferred method.
Beyond City Hall, below is a list of other City facilities that will OPEN as of May 4. However, if patrons do not follow social distancing guidelines, these amenities will be closed again:
• City parks and trails will remain open
• Tennis/Pickleball courts
• Skate Park
With the Clay County Public Health Center occupancy restrictions and concerns with high touch facilities and amenities the following facilities/amenities will remain CLOSED for the time being:
• Smith’s Fork Campground
• City playgrounds, shelters, and restrooms
• Basketball court
• City ballfields
We will continue to post updates as more facilities are able to reopen. Thank you for being patient as the staff work through these new procedures. Please call City Hall at (816) 532-3897 or email email@example.com with questions.
