Did You Know - 4th of July

The City of Smithville is once again partnering with Clay County to host the annual Fourth of July fireworks display at Smithville Lake. The fireworks show is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, and will be launched from the dam. The display is expected to begin at dusk.

City officials are encouraging attendees to plan ahead and watch for traffic detours in the area on the evening of the event.

Fireworks may be sold within Smithville City limits from June 20 through July 5 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Discharge of fireworks is permitted daily between July 3 and July 5 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Bottle rockets remain prohibited within City limits.

City Hall will be closed on July 3 in observance of Independence Day.
