Submit Feedback for the Following Projects:

Over the coming months, MARC will begin soliciting project submissions for the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), Connected KC 2050. While this is not a request for funding, inclusion in the MTP is a required step before any project can later be considered for financial support. The City intends to submit two proposed projects, planned for fiscal years 2029–2030. The initial application window opens February 28, 2026, with submissions due by March 24, 2026. Please review the proposed projects below and provide your feedback.

STREETSCAPE PHASE IV

The proposed project would continue the established downtown streetscape aesthetic by implementing a simplified version of the current design—focused on upgraded sidewalks and pedestrian‑scale lighting, without the use of brick pavers. Streetscape Phase IV is planned for Commercial Avenue, extending from E. Meadows to Church Street.

EAGLE PARKWAY TRAIL PROJECT

The Eagle Parkway Trail project is aimed at establishing a trail network within  Smithville's Eagle Parkway area. Spanning a total distance of 2 miles upon completion,  the project is divided into two phases. Phase 1 will cover a mile-long segment from  180th Street to 188th Street, while Phase 2 will extend from 188th Street to Little Platte  North Park. The construction of a 10-foot-wide multi-use concrete path provides  pedestrians and cyclists with a safe and accessible route to navigate the area. This trail will not only connect existing pathways but also facilitate access to key community  destinations, including Eagle Heights Elementary School, Wildflower Park, Smithville  Lake, and a Paradise golf course.
