Mission, Vision and Values

Vision

The governing body revised the vision statement originally established in 2018. The new vision statement is:

Smithville builds its future by embracing growth, encouraging commerce and enhancing its natural surroundings.

In 2019, the City updated and the Board of Alderman adopted the Strategic Plan through a citizen-driven community vision and strategic planning process.

In 2020, the City updated and the Board of Alderman adopted the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission and the public all came together to provide a robust and informative public process. This was an important step in envisioning and preparing for the future of Smithville.
