- Commercial Ave Sidewalk: the contractor originally awarded the Commercial Avenue Pedestrian Project has informed the City they are ceasing operations and will not be able to complete the work. The City is coordinating with the contractor, their bonding company, and MoDOT to determine next steps and ensure the project continues moving forward. Additional updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
- Water Treatment Plant Improvements: ongoing
- 144th Pump Station and West Bypass project: construction began on June 2, work in progress along 144th St near the pump station.
- Sidewalk Replacement Program (Harborview): in progress
- Diamond Crest Park Parking Lot: delayed due to water leak
- Basin Maintenance Program: implementation began last month
- Street Maintenance Program: Awarded to Asphaltic Surfaces. Location: Commercial Avenue (From 92 HWY to Meadow St). Work will begin after completion of Commercial Sidewalk Project.
Maintenance Updates
- Parks
- Painted sports field lines
- Removed weeds and cleaned up all five ballfields
- Finished mowing and brush hogging all parks
- Deep cleaned restrooms
- Started meetings for the community awards banquet
- Staff attended OSHA training
- Streets
- Poured 6.5 cubic yards of concrete for five curbs at a commercial site, applied curing compound, and completed finishing/cleanup to improve infrastructure and safety.
- Mowed multiple areas, including the Street Department shop and Eagle Parkway, and trimmed roadside vegetation for improved aesthetics and visibility
- Replaced a damaged hydraulic line on the milling machine, tested operation, and cleaned the equipment for future use.
- Milled worn asphalt sections on Rollins Drive, placed 16 tons of asphalt for road repairs, and completed curb approach work at 407 Amesbury.
- Completed Confined Space 102 training during inclement weather to enhance staff knowledge of hazards, entry procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Utilities
- Total Drinking Water Production 7,691,000 gal
- Treated 5,842,000 gallons of wastewater
- Completed 28 work orders and 59 locates
- Completed all testing required at the WTP and WWTP
- Painters completed painting the pipe gallery at the water plant.
- Ace Pipe completed the cleaning of the influent pump station at the wastewater plant. The bypass has been dismantled and the station is back online.
- Staff, with the assistance of Menke Excavating, repaired a watermain break along 169 Hwy. This required the removal of an old T. The job took around 8 hours.
- Mid America Pump replaced the control panel at Harbor Lakes pump station. They found the discharge elbows need replaced. I have them on order (5-week lead time).
- Staff completed grounds maintenance (mowing, weed control, edging) at all sewer lift stations.
- Staff completed a full maintenance on the mini excavator. This included greasing, oil change and complete check of the machine.
