Forest Oaks Improvement Project

The City of Smithville is preparing to begin construction on several infrastructure improvement projects in the Forest Oak neighborhood this summer. These projects are included in the City's Fiscal Year 2026 budget and are part of our ongoing efforts to enhance safety, accessibility, and overall neighborhood infrastructure.

Areas requiring replacement have already been identified and affected property owners have been notified separately regarding their portion of the work.

Anticipated Project Schedule (Weather permitting)

  • Concrete Improvements (sidewalk, curb, gutter, and stormwater improvements at the neighborhood entrance): July 13–24, 2026
  • Road Milling: July 14–16, 2026
  • Asphalt Overlay: July 28–29, 2026

During construction, residents are encouraged to park in their driveways and avoid on-street parking whenever possible. Motorists should also expect temporary traffic impacts, particularly while work is being completed at the neighborhood entrance.

The contractor will make every effort to maintain access to homes throughout the project. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed and ask residents to allow extra travel time when entering or leaving the neighborhood.
