Project Updates
- Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Improvements – Rehab work on filter #2 at the WTP is complete and the filter is back online. Filter #3 is currently off-line, and the old media is being removed.
- Commercial Sidewalk - Selby Excavating LLC, the new contractor, began work on November 3 and has made significant progress. The northbound lane of Commercial Avenue, from Hospital Drive to E. Meadows, will remain closed during construction. The project is expected to be completed in February, weather permitting.
- 144th Pump Station (PS) – Epic is making substantial progress with the pump station wet well and force main. Force Main from HWY 169 north to Hwy 92 is nearly complete. The bore under 169 HWY for the 144th street project is underway now.
- OK Trail – awarded to EPIC Concrete Construction - Project will begin Spring 2026.
- Street Maintenance Program – Awarded to Asphaltic Surfaces. With the Commercial Sidewalk project delayed, the overlay of the Commercial Avenue will be completed this Spring.
- 169/Richardson Signal - MODOT Cost Share application has been approved. City will begin design phase.
- Smith's Fork Lift Station and Rivercrossing project - To be awarded to Menke Excavation pending Board consideration at the Jan 20 Board of Aldermen Regular Meeting. Construction will begin late February/March.
Maintenance Updates
- Parks
- Set 40 parking blocks two SF parking lots
- Cut back landscaping at Diamond Crest Park to prepare for the summer
- Trimmed trees around Lake Remote, Girls Scout Shelter and more areas in Smiths Fork
- Removed Helvey Park gate and disposed of all metal at the Streets Maintenance Facility
- Repaired a flat tire on a work truck
- Removed old and tore up railroad ties at Heritage Park. Landscaping blocks will be placed in necessary areas and ground will be tapered back
- Removed old and broken picnic tables, replaced with new picnic tables
- Streets
- Cleaned and inspected stormwater inlets and drains across several neighborhoods, including Forest Oaks, Woods Court, Harbor Lakes, Hills of Shannon, and downtown
- Removed leaves and debris from storm grates to improve drainage citywide
- Corrected drainage issues in the City Hall parking lot and several residential areas
- Responded to and resolved flooding and drainage concerns reported by residents
- Swept streets in multiple areas, including Forest Oaks, Old Town, and around Maple Elementary
- Cleared blocked storm drains and repaired damaged storm boxes as needed
- Repaired potholes at several locations to improve roadway safety
- Pre-treated streets north and south of Main Street to prepare for winter weather
- Completed professional training on traffic control standards (MUTCD) to support safe roadway operations
- Utilities
- Total Drinking Water Production 6,411,000 gal
- Completed all testing required at the WTP
- Conducted weekly chemical level checks at the WTP for ordering
- Back washed filters 1,2,4and 5
- Staff repaired a leak on the feed line from the bleach tan
- Troubleshot and replaced a relay for transfer pump #2
- Electricians installed a float switch in the pipe gallery at the WTP to notify staff of abnormal water levels
- Completed 27 work orders
- 77 locates completed
- Completed all testing required at WWTP
- Treated 5,192,000 gallons of wastewater
- Completed weekly checks of all booster station and towers in the distribution system.
