Senior Services Updates
  • A short but good week at the Activity Center!

Maintenance Updates

  • Parks
    • Splash pad is officially open!
    • All concrete is completed at OK Railroad Trail, butterfly gardens have been installed
    • Concrete sidewalk poured at Activity Center to ease access to front door
    • Two concrete slabs poured at Emerald Ridge for additional park benches
  • Streets
    • Completed culvert inspection at 18210 N Main
    • Repaired banner at Heritage Park entrance
    • Removed deceased deer at 900 Spelman Dr
    • Repaired trim damage caused by boom mower at 307 E Main St
    • Fixed flagpole bracket at 300 E Main St
    • Mowed ditch at Smith and Main St
    • Utilized vac trailer to locate utilities at Wildflower Pond
    • Piled approximately 350 tons of millings from commercial asphalt project
    • Poured 1 yard of sidewalk concrete at 210 Ashmont Ct
    • Poured 1 yard of concrete into the water line repair hole at Commercial and Meadow
    • Replaced damaged stop sign at Basswood Ct and Commercial Ave
    • Replaced damaged stop sign at Ashmont Ct and Ashmont Ln
    Utilities
    • Total Drinking Water Production 6,746,000 gal
    • Completed all testing required at the WTP
    • Conducted weekly chemical level checks at the WTP for ordering.
    • Backwashed filters 1,2,3,4 and 5 at the WTP
    • Continued working on project high service pump room rehabilitation at the WTP. Priming pipes to prep for new paint
    • Conducted jar testing at the WTP which helps operators determine the optimal type and precise dosage of chemicals required to clarify water, remove suspended solids, and reduce turbidity
    • Completed 24 work orders
    • 86 locates completed
    • Completed 2 new water service connections.
    • Completed all testing required at WWTP
    • Treated 6,230,000 gallons of wastewater
    • Completed weekly checks of all booster station and towers in the distribution system.
    • Staff dug up and installed a water service connection for 206 South Commercial.
    • Staff assisted the plumber at Nodaway Bank in moving the domestic water service lines that they had installed too deep.
    • Completed monthly water service disconnects due to non-payment.
    • Checked 3 fire hydrants for Fire Chief Cline. Staff had concerns about the hydrant locations due to the proximity to the road and grass height. The hydrants were marked with a post fence to increase visibility.
