Senior Services Updates 

• Thanks to dance instructor Janice Heinz from 56ReadyGo for sponsoring Super Bingo this week! It was a great turnout with 25 people attending.
• Autumn Paint by Number program Tuesday was a great opportunity to relax and enjoy being creative.

Maintenance Updates

• Parks
  • Replaced melted brakers at campground over Labor Day weekend
  • Removed blown over light poles at football due to storm damage
  • Mowed all parks
  • Performed monthly brush cutting
  • Washed trucks
  • Prepared equipment for Touch-A-Truck event
  • Painted soccer and baseball fields
  Streets
  • Installed 48 inch stop signs and red flashing lights at 180^th St and Old Jefferson on both sides of the road and at 180^th St and Eagle Pkwy on the south side.
  • Put mower deck back together on John Deere mower.
  • Leveled off piles of dirt that were dug out of road on 176^th St.
  • Received 104 tons of salt to fill bins for winter.
  • Started the process of making road repairs to Park Dr. 
  • Mowed roadsides at Eagle Pkwy, Old Jefferson, 144^th St, Mount Olivet, Martin Rd., 134^th St.
  • Mowed along river downtown, lot on Second Creek Rd. and along 169Hwy.
  • Picked up flags from American Legion and installed them along downtown.
  • Installed 25mph sign at 330 E. Meadow St.
• Utilities
  • Total Drinking Water Production 9,766,000 gal.
  • Completed all testing required at the WTP.
  • Staff completed ground maintenance at WTP and water towers 
  • Conducted weekly chemical level checks at the WTP for ordering.
  • Backwashed filters 1,2,3,4 and 5 at the WTP.
  • Due to high demand the water plant had to run for 24 hours a day for over 3 days. A 3^rd shift was required for this. 
  • Completed 7 work orders
  • 56 locates completed
  • Completed all testing required at WWTP
  • Staff completed ground maintenance at WWTP/Pump Stations
  • Treated 4,673,000 gallons of wastewater
  • Completed weekly checks of all booster station and towers in the distribution system.
  • Collected and delivered 3 E-coli samples to the KCMO laboratory. 
  • Staff repaired a water main break behind 409 Maple Avenue on Saturday. 
  • Completed grounds maintenance at the WWTP. 
  • Replaced the high-pressure water line on the Vac trailer. 
  • Collected the monthly WWTP sample and delivered to Pace Analytical. 
  • Staff responded to a valve vault flooding issue at the new 144th Street Lift Station, pumping out the vault and coordinating warranty repairs with Epic.
